Way back when I was a teen, I inherited my brother's 35 mm Canon. He purchased it while he was serving in Vietnam. He and I were very close, and when he was killed in action, his camera became one of my most treasured possessions. I experimented with black and white film and processing. At that time, the only editing was done in the dark room. For me, it was creative and every image brought me closer to memories. I think it's why people get a sense of the emotive qualities in my photography. The scenery, the light, even the darkness or shadows project a soulful transcendence. I hope you look into the eyes of many of my subjects and wonder about the untold stories, the struggles and the victories.
